Objectives

So we finally set our objectives last week! The objectives are what we want to achieve over the year so here are mine:

• Provide information and opportunities to develop the personal health and welfare of students and to campaign for the provision of welfare services via four campaigns which I will run throughout the year.

• Provide support and encouragement to the non-sabbatical officers by arranging monthly support meetings.

• Co-ordinate elections for Hall Committees in each hall before October 2007.

• Ensure Hall Committees have all the information necessary to access funds and arrange functions during Semester one and continue the support throughout the academic year.

Week 1: 18th-22nd June 2007

Here's a brief summary of what happened on my first week in office (that's my office, not the shop-I LIKE SHOES)

Introduction by Tim Field (President 06/07) and senior Management staff

Officer training in Tetbury- leadership and team building skills with trainer Tony Peacock
Learnt about each others strengths and weaknesses

Outlined our objectives for the next year: welfare campaigns, working with non-sabbs, increase student involvement, image of SU.

Group taskd: monitor our natural roles in a team working situation

Learnt about the commercial side of SU from Commercial services manager Suzette Starmer
